Bus Story: The Face Tells the Tale

April 27, 2010

Rainy spring evening trip home. I think everyone on the ole 54 had an “Oy, Such a Monday, Let Me Tell You.” A kind looking woman with a a very long face is reading. And by long face, I don’t mean she looks sad. Her face is long; longer than one would expect given her head. But in this case, it works because she is moving her lips, almost imperceptibly, along with the words and her face reflects the mood of the text. She smiles, broadly, and nods a little. Then she purses her lips and looks wistful and pensive. Her brows furrow at one point and I find myself leaning forward, hoping to catch some sign of relief or resolution on her expression. I hope she rides tomorrow so I can find out what happens next!
