Bus Story: Scary New Things

February 10, 2010

A woman with an ageless aspect boards this chilly, fog enshrouded morning. Big clunky glasses and hair tighly bunned in a thing that looks like what Asian Pears come in at the grocery. A complete Bus Novice, the driver instructs her how to pay and she timidly scans the seats; mostly occupied by kids on their way to school draped over multiple seats, many fast asleep. She finds the least scary teen with a vacancy and sits, barely half on the seat. She then inspects her transfer as if it’s a recently uncovered Dead Sea Scroll. Welcome to the ole 54, dear. It’s really not that scary. Usually.
