Bus Story: Effective Against Airborne Angst

November 3, 2009

Very crowded tonight. Squished together, it was strangely quiet except for two dudes swapping stories about how messed up their parents are and how bogus everything is; things like not getting an iPod when the father dares to get a new car. Then one exited and someone made the mistake of asking the remaining guy what he was writing. Turned out to be poetry which he started to read in a loud, staccato “poetry slam” voice. Angry, adolescent poetry. Headphones were applied quickly, as I safely retreated into the sounds of the Editors and Daft Punk. Appropriate music helps every occasion.
