Bus Story: Dickensian Escapee

October 26, 2009

A small very thin man dressed all in black, with fingerless gloves and a small woolen cap scurries from the front of the bus to the back. He makes a quick inspection of the vacant seats and dismisses each one in succession with a slight head-twitch and snuffling sound. As he gets nearer, the overwhelming smell of cigarettes precedes him; carried along like a cloud of gnats. He finds an acceptable seat towards the back and slides into it with no sound. Seems like a Dickens character come to life. Seamus Sneep rides the 54.
